I woke up today barely able to rise outdone by my weekend
festivities but happy! As I threw my
Bootcamp clothes on and climbed back into bed I had visions of a Starbucks
Goddess delivering my Non-fat, Grande, Green Tea Latte. And so it was, that I used this vision as
motivation to get me out of bed, into the car and over to Boot Camp with a
little detour to Starbucks to help me start my day. My dog Bruno didn’t care, he just wanted to
go for a walk and so stopping at Starbucks could only have been better if it
included doggie treats.
And so it was on this note that my week began slowly but steadily
after a kayaking – camping trip up at Emerald Bay. I wouldn’t have been so tired but I forgot
that sleeping on the ground is an oxymoron when it comes to my body. My friend Lily had no problem sleeping on
those thin little self-inflating things that they call an air mattress but my
body was less than enthused. Even
Tylenol and Tylenol PM couldn’t work their magic this night. I’m only grateful that it was only one night
instead of two even though more time would have enabled us to do more hiking
and exploring of the local sites like Vikingsholm, Tea House Island, the
waterfalls, DL Bliss or just napping.
Lake Tahoe is beautiful no matter what and this weekend was
no exception. I could have done without
the numerous speed boats and jet skis but Lily said we had to share the space
so our little kayaks got treated to numerous little roller coaster rides over
speed boat waves. Viewing bald eagles
and their nest, and being able to be a little fish in a beautiful big pond made
up for it all even my spent state at the end of the trip. I think next time I will go during the week.
Summer salutations to all!
